  1. Print out this READ_FDX.ME file by typing TYPE READ_FDX.ME > PRN and 
  2. pressing the enter key.

  4. The Find-X system is distributed in 5 files:
  5.  
  6. READ_FDX.ME   This READ*.ME file that gives initial instructions.
  7. FINDX.ZIP     This contains the entire Find-X system in one compressed
  8.               file.
  9. PKUNZIP.EXE   This program extracts the Find-X programs, manual and data
  10.               files from the .ZIP file.
  11. LOAD.SRC
  12. LOAD.EXE      These two files direct the easy installation process.

  15. FIRST PREPARE NEW DISKS
  16.  
  17. Copy the distributed disk onto a Find-X working disk and store the 
  18. distributed disk in a safe place.

  22. HOW TO EXTRACT THE ZIPPED FILES ONTO THE PROPER DISKS
  23.  
  24. In the following instructions, {XXX} means to type the command XXX and then
  25. press the enter key.
  26.  
  27. For a hard disk, make a directory for the Find-X programs. 
  28. Copy the files into it.
  29. Make it the current directory and {LOAD}.
  30. Follow the instructions.

  32. For a dual-floppy system, prepare 4 blank, formatted disks.
  33. Label them as follows:
  34. FIND-X1 Program
  35. FIND-X2 Program
  36. FIND-X Data Files
  37. FIND-X Manual
  38. Insert the disk with the files into either drive.
  39. Make it the current drive and {LOAD}.
  40.  
  41. If you did not print the manual during installation, print it now.
  42. From the hard drive Find-X directory or the Find-X Manual disk,
  43. print the manual by typing {COPY FINDXMAN.DOC PRN} .

  45. Then follow the instructions in the Manual for installing and operating
  46. the FIND-X system.
